Panchmel Dal Recipe | Panchratna Dal | Mixed Tadka dal fry Recipe By Martina Motwani

  • 1 Katori Mixed Dal ( Chana dal, Moong dal hari , Kali Urad Dal or White urad Dal, Masoor Dal)
  • 2 Tomatoes fine cut
  • 2 green chilly fine cut
  • Khada Gram Masala
  • Oil
  • Hing 1 tsp
  • 2 tsp red chilies
  • 2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 2 tsp Salt


  1. Take 1 Katori Dal and wash it 5 times soak in water for 3- 4 hours. Dal is ready to make.
  2. I am boiling Dal in pressure cooker take 5-6 whistles. Add Salt and 2 cup water in boiling. Dal is boiled then we make Tadka for Panchmel Dal.
  3. Heat 2 tsp oil in kadhai, Add Khada garam masala, Jeera, Hing and saute it for a minute then add fine chopped tomatoes and Green chilly . Saute it for 5 minutes.
  4. When Tomatoes are saute add 2 tsp red chilly powder, 1 tsp turmeric powder mix it well. Now tadka is ready we pour boiled Dal in it.
  5. Now Dal is merged with tadka then we put that on slow flame for 5 to 10 minutes to cook dal.
  6. Panchmel Dal is ready to serve garnish with Fresh cream or coriander as you like. Serve with Roti or Naan.
